AB 499: Insanity in California

Today my daughter handed in her vaccination waiver to her school. Since Jerry Brown has decided my daughter is old enough to make decisions, she proved it by demanding that she not be disturbed during her school day by STD vaccination advertising nor by being approached to have the shot for STD's.

I urge all parents out there to have their kids, who are twelve and older, do the same. We need to prove to Brown and to our senators that we've built a new reality for ourselves and their attempt to force harmful vaccinations on our youth, and their attempt to destroy families, cannot be successful.

R Buckminster Fuller as quoted in Mikio Sankey's Climbing Jacob's Ladder reminds us how not to allow big business to affect us when he says, "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." All summer, I tried to stop this piece of insane legislation and failed. Fighting wasn't successful. It's time for a new model. Let's educate our children and support them in being advocates for their health. If there is no prey for our vulture politicians, who are supported by Big Pharma, then this insane bill is useless to them and cannot harm us.

As a result of handing in the letter, my daughter has been assured by school authorities that she doesn't have to sit through any lecture that makes her feel uncomfortable. Good for her school in responding favorably to the letter.

For more information on what kind of letter and why it needs to be written, please read my article at www.naturalnews.com entitled "Protect Our Children."

AB 499: California’s Plot to Strip Parental Power

Please visit these sites for more information.

no-parental-consent/

http://educate-yourself.org/vcd/vetaAB499letter29sep11.shtml

Currently, kids are not allowed even to take an aspirin at school without written parent permission. However, if AB 499 becomes law, California’s kids aged twelve and older can accept a number of pharmaceuticals without their parent’s knowledge. Gardasil along with any vaccine advertised as preventing sexually transmitted diseases, as well as the Hepatitis B vaccination and medicines for HIV will be administered at the child’s request. Even some dental work will be performed without informing the parents. This bill will effectively remove parents from the examination room and, once again, line the pockets of Big Pharma, while possibly quietly harming children.

According to CCG Action, “They [Big Pharma] will profit from bypassing parents and coercing children into receiving the vaccines for certain STDs.” CCG Action also reports, incidentally, that Merck gave $500,000 to the American College of Gynecology last year and $100,000 this year. The connection between Merck and Assembly Member Atkins is that the American College of

Gynecology asked Atkins to write AB 499.

Atkins, a non-parent, is a Democrat in Assembly District 76 (San Diego, California) who was elected in 2010. One of the many committees she’s a member of is the Assembly Committee of Health. She hasn’t wasted much time in returning the favor to the medical profession which has helped to financially support her. According to Maplight, Health Professionals donated $54,999 to her campaign. Likewise, Pharmaceuticals and Health products contributed $10,746. The next three contributors of importance are the California Dental Association ($15,600), the California Medical Association ($8,800), and the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee ($8,550), and the Cooperative of American Physicians contributed $7,800. The AFSCME group contributed $7,800 twice. According to AFSCME’s website, the members are emergency dispatchers, home health workers, doctors of the elderly and disabled, as well as people of other professions. Clearly, the individual and group top ten contributors to Atkins have ties with pharmaceuticals, as well as to medical and dental interests.

According to Cap Wiz, “It [AB 499] will also provide significant protection to pedophiles who might be preying on children [b]y weakening California’s mandated reporter laws.” After all, if a twelve-year-old can legally show up in a doctor’s office requesting a vaccine to prevent STDs, it’s possible the child is engaging in sex. If the child is engaging in sex, someone is breaking another law. Cap Wiz points out that sex with a twelve year old is a felony, yet Atkins is proposing a law around the subject of sexually active minors. A minor who feels the threat of a possible disease and asks for the vaccine should be seen as a child crying out for help, not ignored because a law is in place to give them three doses of a shot. Cap Wiz writes, “How can a physician or nurse give a vaccine for a sexually transmitted disease, or other professionals counsel a child on getting such a vaccine, without the child’s parents’ involvement, and obey the mandated reporter laws? We don’t know either, which is why we consider this bill to [be] the California Pedophile Protection Act of 2011.” Since it will be legal for a doctor to vaccinate the child without parent knowledge, chances are that that mandated reporting, as a whole, will cease to happen.

Citizen Speak is advocating the law in order to help homeless youths, especially child prostitutes. The law is aimed to help a small subgroup within the six percent young runaways─children who need help, not the right to say ‘yes’ to a harmful vaccine. Establishing a law that will affect ALL children, therefore, is overkill.

Senator Noreen Evans argues, “A lot of kids today do not have parents that are either capable or do take responsible care of them” (CCG Action). Her sentence is worded strangely. Perhaps because she knows what she is arguing is weak, because laws are in place to help kids of neglectful parents. Perhaps Evans is referring to a law needed against those parents who sign waivers instead of vaccinating their children. Perhaps AB 499 is intended to override the exemption law of California. After all, if AB 499 passes, parents will lose their right to decide what’s best for their children regarding STDs vaccines, HIV medication, and dental procedures.

An argument for this bill may be for when an educated youngster, who has been begging her parents to learn more about vaccines, avoid being forced to have Gardasil. With AB 499 in place, the parents won’t be able to force their ignorance onto the child, at least with some of the vaccinations. AB 499 might give the child the right to say 'no.' I say might because doctors can be powerfully persuasive. I sincerely doubt that a youngster, no matter how bright, can stand up to a forceful, manipulative doctor. I am a vaccination-educated adult who has performed at least twenty-three years of research. Yet I almost succumbed to the techniques (from flirting to bullying) of a few
doctors trying to get me to agree to vaccinations. AB 499 will place a child alone in a room with an authority figure that everyone is taught to respect and who knows more than we do about what’s best. Because children have less life experience, they are not likely to be able to say ‘no’ to a doctor’s propaganda. Fancy our Senators passing a law that places these tender young ones in the hands of Big Pharma and its cohorts.

CCG Action points out that the bill doesn’t state that children will be informed that Gardasil could cause death, and the bill doesn’t allow for parents to be informed that their child has received the vaccine. Without parents being aware that their children have had the Gardasil shot, parents won’t know why the child has become sick as a result of the vaccination. Also, a child might not know his or her own personal history regarding an adverse reaction to a Hepatitis B shot, for example, and may allow him or herself to be coerced into having the shot. If the child subsequently experiences an adverse reaction, parents will be unable to help their child in a timely manner. Who is held responsible, especially if the child dies? This may not only be a way of making money off the population and stripping parents of their parental rights, it may be a sneaky way to harm people undetected.

The moonlight and roses pamphlets the doctors hand to the children will leave the kids with the impression that they have permission to have sex because this shot will protect them. What the pamphlets will not say is how harmful Gardasil is. For example, according to
Pharmalot, “As of January 15, 2011, [Gardasil] had 21,171 adverse reactions and 91 deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.” While an adult might be aware of these statistics, what are the chances that a youngster will? Yet Senator Atkins is pushing this bill through, which will ensure even more children receive this shot. NVIC says, AB 499 “gives the government control over the health of our children!” Or is it that the government is gaining control over the creation of illnesses of our children? How many kids will read their pamphlets anyway? If a friend got the shot because it makes them look cool, and as if they’re having sex, then another kid might have the shot, too. Twelve is the age of doing what’s cool, not necessarily what’s best.

Minors deserve to have their parent’s guidance in medical matters. With AB 499; however, parents who have studied the adverse affects of vaccines will become powerless to stop the minor from getting a vaccine for sexually transmitted diseases, even if they’ve signed a vaccination waiver. Parents who are aware of the harm vaccines are capable of doing will be pushed aside by nurses who can show up at the child’s school with scary stories, and coerce the child into having the vaccine. Author Camiile Giglio reports on a fifteen year old, without a parent present, being bullied by a doctor into having the Gardisal shot, and this was without a law on the doctor’s side (Cap Wiz). Again, now more than ever, children need to be educated about vaccines and medical control, or else vaccines may kill and maim without anyone being the wiser.

A person needs to be over twenty-one in order to get a credit card over the phone, yet AB 499 ensures that a child can make a life and death decision regarding health care at the age of twelve. According to Cap Wiz, this absurd bill was moved to the Suspense File on August 15, 2011, to be heard again ten days later, when it will most likely move to the Senate floor quickly.

AB 499 is waiting for Governor Brown to officially make it a law, or to veto it. Please call, fax, and e-mail asking him to veto it. Thank-you!

Hair Feathers: Fashionable Animal Abuse

Most feathers that people wear in their hair are not fake. They are the real saddle feathers obtained from roosters that are raised specifically for these ornamental feathers. If you think these feathers are from chickens harvested for their meat, you’re wrong. After the roosters are slaughtered, the carcasses are thrown away. While wearing feathers from roosters raised for their saddle feathers might be the fashion, it is also animal abuse.

Roosters are genetically bred over generations specifically for the special feathers that grow on their backsides, and most do not survive the plucking. In fact, it is common practice to euthanize the roosters before removing the feathers. Real feathers such as these are coveted because they can be curled, washed, blow dried, and brushed along with a person’s hair, whereas the synthetic feathers melt under the same hot treatments. Feathers can be bonded together using hot glue. Then the stylist can clip the feathers into their patron’s hair without any fear of the quills melting.
In June, Whiting Farms in Colorado reported that they were killing roughly 1,500 birds a month. Wearing feathers in the hair is a worldwide craze. If thousands of roosters are slaughtered weekly in the United States for their saddle feathers, what is the number of slaughtered roosters worldwide? Whiting Farms says that in the year 2000, they used over 125,000 roosters for their feathers only. That was back when fly fisherman were the only market, prior to hair feathers coming into fashion. Imagine what the number of slaughtered roosters must be now.
A rooster is only permitted about a year of life─being robbed of roughly fourteen years─ because that is long enough to grow the beautiful feathers desired by fashion gurus and fly fisherman alike. Although the cost of the feathers has increased, making more money for those in the feather business, conditions for the birds haven’t improved. In fact, it has gotten worse since more roosters are being bred to be slaughtered for their feathers. According to Ethical Style, over half of a rooster’s life is spent in a crowded cage. The Audubon Society says that this trend is cruel. Perhaps consumers assume live plucking takes place because that seems to make sense. However, that is not the case for most roosters.

If you have a desire to wear feathers, perhaps you could pick them up from the ground, salt treat them, and then color them as you please. Truly commune with nature by thanking the bird who belonged to the feather you have found and see it as a gift that has come to you. The ground offers a variety of feathers from a variety of birds. They can be worn secretly within a medicine bag or displayed with beads and a tie. Inquire at your salon about metallic hair extensions and ask if the care of them is different from the care of feathers in your hair.
While the fish may be breathing a sigh of relief over the fisherman’s despair in procuring a feather lure, roosters are suffering more. The practice of putting feathers in the hair is even starting to become a canine trend. It goes to show that before you buy into a new trend, research every detail about it. Do not make assumptions just because you would never raise a bird to slaughter for a feather or two. Once again in human history, animal abuse should not be synonymous with our idea of stylish fashions.

The “To-Do” List for Anemic Sufferers

According to nutritionist Aajonus Vonderplanitz, the “Earth Flora” website, and Andreas Moritz, an individual has options when healing and balancing the body. Anemia is one such common imbalance that may be helped by the following fresh ideas.

Aajonus Vonderplanitz in We Want to Live, says, “It [salt in food] causes sodium molecules to clump in the blood. That reverses ion magnetism and pulls the guts (so to speak) from cells. The affected cells can no longer eat anything and they shrivel and die. Four little bitty grains of salt ─ including sea salt ─ destroy approximately two million red blood cells” (144). He goes on to say that it takes “at least three hours to replace the blood cells and about 24 hours to cleanse the dead cells (144). His thoughts pose an interesting point of view for those experiencing anemia and whose doctors never mention a possible salt-cell correlation with results as dramatic as this.

Vonderplanitz feels nutrients are important even while asleep. He writes, “Eating before sleep is very healthful when on a raw diet because raw food is easy to digest, and the body doesn’t have to go too many hours without a good supply of fresh nutrients during sleep” (331). To be clear, raw food to Vonderplanitz includes raw meats as well as anything normally uncooked. Anemics may want to consider what Vonderplanitz believes when he writes, “After five hours, there is a blood-protein deficiency resulting in red blood cells eating other red blood cells. That cannibalism causes tremendous toxicity that makes many people feel drained and lethargic even after 8-10 hours of sleep” (331). Certainly if you find you awaken tired even after a lengthy sleep, following his recommendation of awakening “after 5 hours to drink ½-1 cup of room temperature raw milk, or raw milk shake, or 2 raw eggs” might be worth experimenting (331). Raw eggs could be beaten with some raw milk and ingested with a little raw, unheated honey in your mouth to make it more palatable. For an anemic, it certainly may be something worth trying, especially if despite trying everything possible to get better a person still awakens in the night struggling to get oxygen. Raw fat may bring instant relief through helping your body to absorb and utilize available nutrients as well as by escorting toxins out of your body.

Vonderplanitz feels that cooked foods can do our bodies more harm than good. Pernicious anemia, caused by a slow decrease in the number of mature red blood cells made by the bone marrow, for example, may be caused by the body’s “inability to digest or utilize cooked and processed sugars,” leading to low blood sugar (301). Vonderplanitz advises the use of raw meats, unripe fruits, unheated honey, and the Nut Formula─a mixture of blended nuts and raw fats─to remedy this form of anemia (301). No, cooked foods are not on his list to heal this condition. To give Vonderplanitz a final word on anemia, he says that pain behind the knees may be a symptom of anemia and suggests eating raw meat to help stop the pain (298).

The website “Earth Flora” states, “Earth Greens SUN/MOON Formula was carefully designed to contain fewer substances, but in larger amounts so that each component has a substantial effect. These particular rare plant materials represent superior botanicals from across the planet, narrowed down to only the finest, safest, and most popular food herbs from a variety of native traditions”. Earth Greens is a powdered formula including Hawaiian Spirulina and herbs from a variety of disciplines. “Earth Flora” also states, “Greens help to detoxify the body and build strong blood. They contain a wide range of nutrients, including an abundance of enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and easy-to-assimilate proteins. Greens are also a rich source of chlorophyll, which is essential to healing, renewal, and purification.” This formula assists the blood, and also helps enhance energy levels and mental clarity. An anemic may do well to try a container of this formula.

One important ingredient in the Earth Green formula is spirulina. The reason spirunlia is significant is that it contains more iron than most iron-rich foods, including spinach and beef. Spirulina has been found to stimulate bone marrow to produce red blood cells. It is rich in chlorophyll, and chlorophyll is chemically very close to human blood. Whereas iron supplements can lead to iron toxicity, spirulina is easily absorbed and is not toxic. Along with the powerful spirulina, the Earth Greens formula contains tonifying herbs that support calming of stress and support longevity. It brings us a step closer to our non-drug using ancestors who ate wild plants regularly to ensure health.

On Andreas Moritz’s website “Ener-Chi” it states, “Rather than combating the symptoms of disease, which tends to generate a host of potentially serious side-effects that foster new diseases, he [Andreas Moritz] proposes that we restore the numerous factors that create and maintain the body’s natural balance, vitality and youthfulness.” Part of the process toward creating and maintaining this balance can be supported through his Ener-Chi Art, which works with the viewer’s qi (energy) in order to balance it.

Those experiencing anemia could purchase the picture titled “Blood.” When a person gazes at the picture for even a minute, the light-encoded energies sent cause “very profound changes [to] occur in the life energy field.” Blockages “are systematically transmuted and released.”

“Portrait of Power” is another picture that an anemic may find helpful. When feeling tired and lethargic, a person’s ‘get up and go’ may be encouraged by viewing this picture. The anemic may find the strength to shop for the correct foods, take care of him or herself better, and engage in life once again. Ener-Chi Art has many pictures from which to choose. If viewing one causes emotions to stir, or if one simply feels drawn to a certain picture, it may be worth it to invest in that particular picture.

Along with the helpful advice from Vonderplanitz, “Earth Greens,” and Moritz, other help is available for anemics to consider as well. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Royal Jelly, sunbathing and bathing in Epson salts are by no means a complete list, but certainly worth a try.

A TCM practitioner can prescribe herbal formulas and suggest herbs for cooking that address your particular deficiencies and excesses. Herbs like Huang Qi (Radix Astragali Membranacei), Gou Qi Zi (Fructus Lycii), and Da Zao (Fructus Zizyphi Jujubae) can be boiled in water or cooked with rice or porridge. In either method, the herbs will be removed from the finished product before ingestion of the water, rice, or porridge. Huang Qi supports immunity and blood, as well as addresses fatigue, to name a few benefits. Gou Qi Zi supports the blood and relieves dizziness, and, most especially, you may find drinking Da Zao infused water relieves the symptom of shortness of breath. Your practitioner will alter your formula as your body is brought back into balance.

On the “Y. S. Royal Jelly” website it states, “Royal Jelly is a thick, milky substance secreted from the pharyngeal glands of a special group of young nurse bees between their 6th and 12th days of life after birth.” This honey/pollen mixture is high in vitamins, especially, a variety of B-vitamins and folic acid. It can regulate the appetite, help ease fatigue, and assist with the formation of erythrocytes (red blood cells).
Royal jelly should be taken regularly and on an empty stomach.

In closing, note that sunbathing briefly and safely and bathing with magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts) for just ten to fifteen minutes once a week boosts the production of RBCs in the blood.

Author’s note: When taking natural healing products internally for a long period of time, it is always best to give your body a break from the remedy every two weeks or so. If taking Royal Jelly, “Earth Greens,” and Chinese herbs, for example, rest from one at a time for about three days, not all of them at the same time. Please note that my advice to take a break from internal natural products does not relate to drugs prescribed by your doctor. First, drugs are not a natural remedy, and second, the dosage and duration of drug therapy is between you and your physician.

Alert ─ California’s State Bill 628 Must Not Pass

According to Senator Leland Yee’s website, “Since 2003, Dr. Yee has one of the best track records in getting his bills passed and signed into law. In fact, he has successfully passed 133 pieces of legislation, of which 100 have been chaptered into law.” With a track record like that, he would be the person to go to to call in a political favor. California State Bill 628 just may be that favor.
While the stated topic is Acupuncture Regulation, the bill is actually aimed at TCM traumatologists, a field that has nothing to do with the specialty of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Because all acupuncture laws are already in place, and the bill’s actual stipulated topic is traumatologists, the bill’s topic should be TCM Traumatologist Regulation, which would be far less misleading.
How will this bill benefit California residents if it is allowed to pass without including any set standards for traumatologists? One benefit for the TCM traumatologists committee is that the bill places jurisdiction under the California Acupuncture Board (CAB). That means required money including debts related to TCM traumatologists can be paid by the CAB. This is hardly fair to acupuncturists who have nothing to do with this new field, yet are expected to pay TCM traumatologists’ unspecified expenses. The committee deciding on a job description and regulations will be formed in March 2012, and a short two months later the board shall start issuing certificates to the applicants that they see as fit. To go a step further, the committee could decide to base the traumatologists’ job description and regulations solely on a certain applicant’s resume since two months worth of applications would have been collected before the committee ever even meets.
Most people will not know the time frame open to apply (January to December 2012) and will miss the opportunity to become certified as TCM traumatologists; however, the opportunity to become certified is long enough for a special interest group to send in a person with a plan against alternative health care to become certified. This person will be functioning under the CAB’s jurisdiction; therefore, any incident could potentially ruin acupuncture’s reputation in California.
Although a job description is lacking, the monies related to TCM traumatologists certification is spelled out thoroughly. Applicants originally only had to pay $75. Now it’s been changed to $200. Those who fail to renew their certificate after five years will have three years to renew before they risk losing their certificate. Of course, a delinquency fine of $25 and the renewal fee must be paid in order to reinstate certification. Aside from the applicant being eighteen years of age and the monies involved being clearly stated, why are the time frame and physicians to be on the committee the only two clear stipulations made for the whole bill when an explanation of what TCM traumatologists do is absent?
One wonders about the motivation behind this bill. Basically, after this bill passes, a committee can make up the rules to make this bill anything they want. Further, there are inconsistencies, like requesting an annual renewal fee. Previously written into the bill, renewal was set at every five years, not annually. The renewal cost used to be $75 and now that’s been crossed out changed to $100. There’s no word about a refund for those who are not issued a certificate although applying to be a TCM traumatologist. The bill contradicts itself by saying that one can only apply for a certificate in 2012, yet in section 4967, it states, “A person who fails to renew his or her license or certificate within three years after its expiration may not renew it, and it may not be restored, reissued, or reinstated thereafter, but that person may apply for and obtain a new license or certificate if he or she meets all of the following requirements.” New licenses supposedly are not to be given out after December 15, 2012, yet you can “obtain a new license.”
In section 4967(d) of SB 628, it states, “The board may provide for the waiver or refund of all or any part of an examination fee in those cases in which a license to practice acupuncture is issued without an examination pursuant to this section.” TCM traumatologists are not mentioned at all. Regulations around acupuncture testing are already in place. Furthermore, no one is permitted to practice acupuncture without a license except interns within a school setting under the watchful eye of a licensed acupuncturist who is also a teacher. A license is only given after an exam is passed. Two places referring to a written examination for TCM traumatologists have been crossed out of the bill. There’s no affiliation between the two professions. SB 628 discusses acupuncturists and TCM traumatologists separately the whole way through.
How is 4967(d) connected to TCM traumatologists? Yee may as well have written, “Drivers must drive thirty-five in a thirty-five mile per hour zone.” It’s already a law and not connected to TCM traumatologists in any discernable way. Each section is filled with a lot of writing and still doesn’t clarify the job description of a TCM traumatologist. A big question arises, why bring up acupuncturists at all when the bill relates only to TCM traumatologists specifically? Acupuncturists already have rules, regulations, and laws governing their actions in detail. This bill should leave them out of it. Most likely the only reason Yee is mentioning acupuncturists is to make readers of the bill believe in an affiliation between the two professions when none exists.
One has to ask who benefits from the passing of SB 628, especially when there are no educational or certification standards in place. Senator Leland Yee allegedly thought this bill up by himself, working without any special interest group’s influence. This should be easy enough to find out. If interested, we could look up campaign donors to Senator Yee and see if this group is listed, or wait until SB628 passes and see if a donor ends up on the committee.
The California Assembly Committee on Business, Professions, and Consumer Protection will be presented with this bill on July 5, 2011.
