I have just been informed that there are no linesmen at the US Open tennis tournament in New York, which is being held right now. Lines are only being called electronically.
People do say that it is better because there are no mistakes. But is being replaced by AI better? This is just the beginning. Just wait till they say that AI is better than having a human teacher in the classroom. And that the classroom should be online, etc. What about when it is your job that is being replaced by AI?
Thank goodness that it costs a lot of money to have AI at the US Open. That way, there will still be some tournaments so that these lines people can work until retirement.
